Dua Lipa has been announced as the newest Barbie girl, with the star transforming into a mermaid in a promotional image for the upcoming Greta Gerwig “Barbie” movie.

“This Barbie is a mermaid!! #BarbieTheMovie” the “Levitating” singer, 27, captioned an Instagram post sharing the movie poster, adding heart, mermaid and wave emojis.

Dua 27, poses in a long, wavy blue wig and a metallic blue shell top in the movie poster, adding what appears to be a blue-and-white mermaid tail on bottom.

The Grammy winner sports huge pearl earrings and a matching necklace entwined with blue beads, rocking very 1980s blue eye makeup and a deep tan in the pic.

The movie’s official social media accounts also shared posters for Margot Robbie, 32, as the main Barbie and Ryan Gosling, 42, as the original Ken, along with other co-stars such as Issa Rae, Nicola Coughlan, Hari Nef, Kate McKinnon, Emma Mackey and more as different versions of the doll and various Kens, including Simu Liu.

Other surprise stars include Michael Cera, America Ferrera, Helen Mirren, Will Ferrell and more.

“It’s gonna be a splash,” the official Barbie Instagram account commented, while Dua’s 21-year-old sister, Rina Lipa, dropped four mermaid emojis and three hearts.

One fan said they were, “shaking crying throwing up etc.”

Others questioned if she’d sing in the movie, like one who wrote, “We need your music in the film!!!! We need your music in the super bowl!!!”

However, fans can rest easy as the Daily Mail reported that Lipa has recorded a song specifically for the wild and wacky movie.

Viewers are eagerly awaiting her undersea style and song as the movie hits screens on July 21.
