Clubbers were left in hysterics after two men appeared to be ‘caught in the act’ of eyeing up two women on a nightclub dancefloor – although the photographer suggests his snap may simply have been unfortunately timed.

Photographer Alex Brown, 27, from Royton, Greater Manchester, wasn’t focusing on the background when he snapped a pair of partying girls at Liquid and Envy in Oldham earlier this month.

However, when the club posted his image to Facebook, eagle-eyed users quickly pointed out two lads stood behind the hugging blonde and brunette, appearing to check them out.

The picture quickly racked up hundreds of likes and comments, with the photographer since joking that he ‘feels sorry for maybe catching the men out’.

However the men seemed to take it in good spirits, and after being tagged by a pal, Ethan Taylor jokingly commented: ‘F*** sake’, before brushing off jokes he’d been ‘caught’.

He shifted attention to the unknown man on the left of the image, who appeared to look towards the brunette wearing a bodycon dress, joking ‘he’s been caught badly’.

The photo has racked up hundreds of interactions – including many laughing faces from amused fans of the nightclub.

Alex said: ‘It could be one of those things where they weren’t actually looking and they were trying to get past, but it does look like they were looking at them. It looks pretty funny.

‘I feel sorry for the lads because I might have caught them out there a bit, but it happens. I didn’t mean to catch anything like that. It was a complete coincidence.

‘I remember taking the photo but I didn’t notice anything. The girls were enjoying the chance to get a photo and I was just focusing on them.

‘I’m always keeping an eye out for anything that looks inappropriate but nothing like that stood out to me with this one.

‘I wasn’t even aware of the photo going viral, but the DJ told me about it when I went into work.’

He added: ‘I’m editing these at the end of my shift at about 5am, so admittedly every now and again I do miss something. I sort through ones that are definitely not suitable to go on.

‘Normally I’ll get a message from someone telling me to take it down, but nobody’s been in touch about this one anyway.’

Alex says he’s surprised this photo has captured the attention of so many Facebook users, but he’s found the reaction funny.

The popular image, which is in a digital album of more than 85 photos, has been shared more than dozens of times on Facebook.

Follower Kiera Moore jokingly commented: ‘Hahaha caught in the act.’

Elsewhere Jenna Quinn said: ‘I know where them lads are looking. Baited.’

And referring to the popular TikTok term of being caught in ‘high definition’, Lorelle replied: ‘Caught in 4K. Unlucky.’
