Spoiler alert: This story contains significant details from the live “America’s Got Talent” results show on Wednesday.
“America’s Got Talent” made another sharp, difficult cut in the Season 13 field Wednesday, eliminating six semifinalists via fan vote as it moved five on to the Sept. 18 performance finals.
In big, noncompetition news, host Tyra Banks announced that BTS, the hugely popular South Korean boy band, will perform its hit song “Idol” on next week’s second semifinals results show for the NBC talent competition (Wednesday, 8 EDT/PDT).
The Week One 11-act field, which performed on Tuesday’s live performance show, included 10 contestants that had survived the quarterfinals and Front Pictures, the multi-media artists who were previously eliminated but saved with a judges’ wild-card pick.
As the results show opened, three competitors – stand-up comic Samuel J. Comroe, aerial artists Duo Transcend and Voices of Hope children’s choir – found themselves on the hot seat, competing for viewer votes during the hourlong broadcast for the chance to get the Dunkin’ Save and a slot in the finals.
