FROM Ugg boots to low rise jeans and ballet shoes, 2022 saw the revival of many iconic 90s trends.

But shoppers have been left horrified after spotting the first throwback look making a comeback in 2023 – and it's really divided opinion.

Marissa Christine took to TikTok and shared a snap of a mannequin in her local Urban Outfitters store which was dressed in jeans and a long purple dress.

While the dress over jeans look was loved by various famous faces back in the day – including Britney Spears and Miley Cryus – not everyone is convinced it should still be around.

She explains: "I saw this in Urban Outfitters the other day and almost had a heart attack.

She captioned the post: "I understand bringing low rise jeans back but I beg you to just skip this whole awkward phase out and never bring it back."

It wasn't long before the post garnered over 721,000 views and received hundreds of comments – with very mixed responses.

A second agreed: "Low rise jeans are fine however that is hmmmmmm."

A third quipped: "Pretty sure I destroyed all evidence of my experimentation with this trend."

And another joked: "At this point, they’re seeing how far we’ll go."

However, others were all for the return of the 90s trend.

"Why do I think it's cute?" asked one.

A second penned: "Tell me why I would do it all over again."

Meanwhile, another insisted: "I will not deny my love for dresses over jeans any longer."

And one more who has already jumped on board the trend added: "No because i wore it recently."
