“I think what we’ll all be experiencing in 2021 is outdoor entertaining, whether you’re entertaining or not, you’re meeting people outdoors,” Lela Rose explained over Zoom. The designer is an entertainer at heart — she’s currently in Jackson Hole, dreaming up an outdoor ice skating party on her property. For pre-fall, Rose looked toward the future of outdoor dining and get-togethers to develop a more casual selection of easy, but still exuberant and playful fashions.
Rose brought forth her signature femininity through airy, ruched floral printed voile options — dresses perfect for summer micro-weddings and flounced blouses paired with a new olive denim trouser for day. Ruching details ran throughout, as a sunburst shape on the waist of a pretty goldenrod sheath and little cotton check top with longer side train, or along the bust on monochromatic frocks. “I would not say that we’re the most casual brand known out there, but we’re trying to offer more casual pieces,” she expressed. “Our woman loves what we do and how we do it, so trying to give them more reasons to get together.”
