HIS Dark Materials left fans scratching their heads after they spotted a moment between Lyra and Pan they claimed made no sense. The BBC fantasy…
EVERY Sunday, our resident Tarotscope reader Kerry King will be revealing what surprises, challenges and excitement awaits you in the week ahead.
Kerry has been practising tarot readings for the last 20 years, starting from reading for friends to amassing an international client list.
Using her strong intuition and deep knowledge and understanding of the horoscope, she is able to provide accurate and encouraging predictions for the coming days.
Here's her predictions for YOUR star sign…
Aries (Ten of Swords, The Fool, The Hanged Man)
There is a sharp change of direction in store for you this week, Aries.
It begins with the Ten of Swords- an abrupt ending to something you’d grown weary of and depressed by.
A situation which was heading to a no-win impasse, and you’ll feel mightily relieved to cut your losses on.
As fast as that unfolds, The Fool sweeps in with an equally swift-moving opportunity to seize.
Something inspiring, exciting, fun and motivating. Something you, and you alone, can see the potential of. Others may raise an eyebrow… let them!
The Hanged Man completes this chapter and advises you that, once the initial excitement passes, you will need to knuckle down and make some sacrifices of time and energy to make this endeavour work for you.
It may mean other projects or intentions, or even relationships, stall a little, but that’s OK.
No pain, no gain… and this is worth it!
Taurus (Seven of Wands, Two of Cups, The Devil)
One of your close relationships will be tested this week, Taurus, and you will need to stand your ground.
The Devil hints it’s triggered by an old problem that keeps re-surfacing.
We all like to think our squabbles end when we want them to, but some things just get driven “underground”, lurking for the next opportunity to flare up. This is a flare-up.
The Seven of Wands says that, this time, you need to make your stand and not cave in under any circumstances!
Headway can be made, but you need to force the issue and keep explaining yourself until it sinks in.
Sounds dismal, doesn’t it, but it will pass by soon enough and the relationship will be a lot better for it.
The Two of Cups is the tarot’s “love card”, so this will all end well. Sometimes you just need to make sure you’re being heard, and your position is fully understood and acknowledged.
Gemini (Queen of Wands, Eight of Swords, Temperance)
It’s Gemini season which means you’re in full PART-TAY mode, as shown by the vibrant and adventurous Queen of Wands.
Have fun, Gemini, and revel in the high spirits and good vibes.
Whilst you’re busy planning your celebrations, though, perhaps consider tweaking your partying escapades…
The Eight of Swords and Temperance combine to tell a story of finding a “new normal”- maybe you should ramp it up more than usual, maybe you should mix it up with different activities or different people, maybe it’s time to rein it back… only you know which way you should turn the dial.
Consider this, and think of a few lifestyle changes or “do differently” you could implement this very week.
With one or two tweaks to your usual patterns, you will find yourself adjusting naturally to a new, more appropriate rhythm and balance.
Life is all about change, and making changes ourselves before they’re forced upon us.
This week offers an easy opportunity to do this.
Cancer (Four of Swords, Strength, The Hermit)
There’s a real sense of hibernation around you, this week, Cancer.
The Hermit and the Four of Swords are both about retreating from the world, withdrawing to find a peaceful place, resting, nesting in your favourite haunt to sit and ponder…
Perhaps you need to let your emotions and feelings catch up with recent events and you need that little bit extra space and time to do so.
Gift yourself with a “time out”, and enjoy rebalancing and reviewing recent events.
Strength shows this all serves an important purpose.
You’re growing and developing, you’re coming to terms with things which once bothered you, you’re understanding situations from different perspectives.
What once perhaps seemed difficult or challenging now seems easily managed.
Life’s hardships don’t have to drain or pain us, they can serve as a useful exercise to build our emotional muscles and resilience, and that is what this little “time out” is helping you to do.
Reframe the events, see the life lessons, get ready to move on once again.
Leo (Nine of Cups, Two of Coins, Page of Wands)
You have bags of energy and strength, so you can power through more in a week than most of us could tackle in a month!
The Page of Wands sees you in the right mood to do just that- it’s a “power week” no less!
The Two of Coins asks you to, firstly, get comfy with variety.
This surge of strength isn’t just for ONE project or relationship, it can work across multiple areas of your life.
Get ahead across the board, my friend.
The Page of Wands reminds you to not put pressure on yourself, either, or fixate that all of your efforts must succeed or be executed perfectly.
Just do it, quite literally, and don’t worry about it.
The Nine of Cups, secondly, asks you to focus on things you’d class as a “wish come true”.
This is the tarot’s wish fulfilment card, so it sprinkles a liberal helping of fairy dust over your endeavours. Make it count!
Invest where you care the most. Focus where you have true desire and passion.
Make moves where you think you need luck to help you along (it will emerge).
This is going to be one helluva’ week, Leo!
Virgo (Ten of Coins, Nine of Wands, Queen of Swords)
You have this tendency to (deep down) believe you can do most things better than most people, and, you know what, you’re often right my friend!
Virgos are perceptive, organised and diligent- a great combination for success.
The Queen of Swords wants you to remember that, this week, and have confidence in yourself and your ability to make money / achieve goals / be recognised for your true value.
The Nine of Wands reflects that little demon you also have: the inner critic.
He likes to tell you that you can’t do it, others are better at it, people think you’re no good. ENOUGH!
Consciously drown out this nagging voice, and get on with your ambitions regardless.
The Ten of Coins shows it’s a great week to make headway on your career and financial pathway- laying foundations for a secure future, a prosperous payday, an opportunity for reward.
Do the groundwork, and trust in your abilities because they WILL pay back.
Libra (Seven of Swords, The Hierophant, Judgment)
I know you like to be liked, Libra (most of us do too), but not everyone is as, well, “nice” as you all the time.
The Seven of Swords asks you to raise your guard a little higher this week, and protect your own interests before looking to impress or placate others.
Something shady may kick off, and it might make you think twice about something.
Two powerful major arcana cards- Judgment and The Hierophant- combine to say this week will bring forth some illuminating insights about what you regard as authority / convention / tradition in your life, and may challenge some of your beliefs.
This could be related to work, religion, family, politics, friendships… something significant and something you’ve always had faith in.
Things change, Libra. People change, too.
And, sometimes, it means we should privately re-examine our own investment or faith in them, and adjust our efforts and approach.
This is one of those times.
Scorpio (The Moon, Queen of Cups, Queen of Wands)
The Moon is a card of mystery, illusion, secrets and anxieties… those 4am “heeby jeebies” which plague us at night and then vanish in the daytime.
What’s bothering you? What feelings keep arising which you can’t find the source for?
Identify them, and then relax about it.
There’s no move to be made just now, because you don’t know everything you need to just yet.
The Queens of Cups and Wands are going to bring forth both the emotional insight AND the energy and confidence to recognise what’s REALLY going on, and tackle it.
Until you know what the truth is, you can’t direct your focus or intentions on the right area.
So, stop worrying and settle down.
When you feel anxious or unsure, sit with the feelings and see what is triggering them, and what lies beneath.
These new insights will prove invaluable in helping you identify your next best step.
Sagittarius (Queen of Coins, Ace of Cups, Seven of Cups)
You’re bursting with magical ideas this week, Sagittarius, as shown by the Ace and Seven of Cups.
Anything seems possible and, my friend, it IS.
If you can dream it, you CAN do it.
Visions and daydreams come to us, from the Universe, for a reason.
They are a hint at what we can achieve, so take your imagination seriously.
Trust and know that you can manifest these things in real life, with effort and focus.
The Queen of Coins provides that for you.
The material, practical and strategic nouse you need to turn fantasy into reality.
You will need to identify your most inspiring ideas, and then pragmatically break them down into achievable bite-size actions.
Then, it’s about summoning the time, energy and resources to complete those actions.
It’s all so easy, and yet it’s not. BUT it IS in your grasp, Sagittarius, so believe in yourself and what you’re capable of.
Capricorn (The Devil, Two of Cups, Five of Wands)
The Devil is your star sign’s tarot card so this is an important week, and one which will offer up an opportunity to break a bad habit.
The Devil is about taking 100% ownership for our actions- the good, the bad AND the ugly.
It also represents addiction and repeat patterns, the path of least resistance which we long to resist.
The Five of Wands hints that a conflict or argument will reveal such an area to you this week, be grateful for that because this is the first step towards acknowledging and changing something which has limited your development.
The Two of Cups hints it could be around a relationship or how you collaborate / work with others.
You can be a bit of a loner, you like to be in control, and you have high standards… this can put you at one step removed from other people sometimes.
Maybe this distance is something you’d like to change?
Imagine how much further, faster, you could get if you learn to truly collaborate with others to exploit and fulfil your joint potential.
Aquarius (The Fool, The Sun, The Hanged Man)
A trio of major arcana cards, this week, Aquarius, which are the “power cards” of the tarot, bringing significant life changes and insights from the Universe!
The Hanged Man reveals that a longstanding, frustrating situation which you feel has thwarted you will unfold and progress in a new direction.
Your sacrifices will be rewarded, you will feel that momentum has been regained.
The Fool and The Sun combine to tell a story of “happy ever afters”, that a new chapter is dawning and it’s full of success, prosperity and joy.
A career improvement, a change of home or location, a broadening family, a wonderful turn in the road towards a better future.
Seize the day, Aquarius, and say YES to every new opportunity you come across right now.
Something new is itching to be born into your life, and it will prove itself as the key to your future happiness, so welcome it in.
Pisces (Justice, Seven of Wands, Ten of Swords)
I bring you good news: a conflict-riddled and difficult situation is going to be resolved soon, and in your favour.
The Seven of Wands shows that you have stood your ground, dug in, represented what you believe is right… and that this resolve will pay off.
Justice is the key card here, and literally represents justice being done. Good!
The only thing to note comes from the Ten of Swords.
This indicates that, once this is over, you should cut ties with whatever has kept you tethered to this situation for so long.
That might be a role, a relationship, an actual place, or a commitment.
Whatever it is, sever the cord and let yourself move on, without looking back. You’re free.
