Kate Middleton, 40, stepped out last week in Stratford wearing her “Medium Twist Hoops Gold” from the brand Spells in Love. These beautiful gold twisted mini hoop earrings cost just £60, and the Princess of Wales has worn them several times this year.

The description of these earrings on the Spells of Love website reads: “As seen on HRH The Princess of Wales. Our twist on our classic Hoops. Our best-selling twist Hoops are now back in stock in a new larger size! New and improved.

“Recycled 18K Gold Vermeil. Vermeil is a legally regulated term. Vermeil Jewellery must have at least 2.5 Microns of 18K Gold over a base metal of 925 Sterling Silver. Also available in Rose Gold Vermeil and Sterling Silver.”

The decision to wear Spells of Love earrings has meant a lot to the brand’s Welsh designer Hayley Jones, who started her jewellery business from the kitchen table of her home in Caerphilly when she started selling her jewellery on Etsy.

She exclusively told Express.co.uk: “It has been so incredible having the Princess of Wales wear my earrings, I still cannot believe it, it’s still so surreal. I don’t think it will ever fully sink in!”

For Kate’s first appearance as the Princess of Wales after the Queen’s funeral, she chose another pair of earrings from the same brand, the Alia Hoops, to accessorise her red outfit.

This was when she visited Wales with her husband Prince William in September 2022. Kate paired the £79 earrings with a coat from the British brand LK Bennett, specifically the Spencer Red Recycled Wool Blend Snaffle-Detail Coat.

Priced at £599, it is available online in all sizes. Underneath the coat, she wore a black round-neck top which was tucked into a pair of high-waisted wide-leg trousers. She carried a small black handbag with her, which is from the brand Grace Han.

It was the Black Love Letter Small Top Handle Bag and has been in Kate’s wardrobe for a few years.

Ms Jones continued: “Seeing the Princess of Wales wear our pieces has been an honour. As a small two-person-run business, it has really helped put us on the map.

“We have had orders globally, from countries I would have never expected to know who we are.

“It has been so surreal, and I am forever grateful.”

The Welsh designer elaborated on her favourite occasion that Kate wore her Spells of Love earrings and why.

She opined: “I think it was the first time Kate wore my Alia Hoops which was during her visit to Barry, Wales.

“It was a complete pinch-me moment, and something I will never forget. My grandad who sadly passed away last year was ecstatic as he loved the Royal Family.

“It was a proud moment to share with him and remember.”

On this special visit to Barry Island, Kate paired her Spells of Love hoops with a familiar blue and pink floral midi dress by fashion favourite Emilia Wickstead.

The frock was first seen on Kate when she opened her Back to Nature garden at RHS Wisley with British food writer and TV presenter Mary Berry in 2019. Kate teamed her dress with her trusty Castañer espadrille wedges.

Kate has reworn the Spells of Love earrings several times now, which has been such a huge honour for Ms Jones as a designer.

She added: “Yes – it is such an incredible honour! I still cannot quite believe it.

“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity, it has really helped put my business on the map and has been a huge stepping stone for me as a brand, I am forever grateful.”
