Indya Moore Opens Jason Wu’s Runway Show During New York Fashion Week

Pose star and activist Indya Moore is helping kick off New York Fashion Week.

Moore opened designer Jason Wu’s runway presentation at Spring Studios Terrace in New York City on Sunday. Marking their first-ever NYFW runway appearance, Moore wore a bohemian-inspired ensemble, including a terracotta-hued sleeveless dress with an eyelet hem, beaded necklace and earrings, and striped sandals. Moore’s hair was kept down in natural curls.

Moore shared a behind-the-scenes photo with Wu on Instagram following the show and recapping their runway appearance. The actor posed alongside Wu while they both wore precautionary face masks for the photo op.

“@jasonwu Invited me to open his show. Thank you so much! This is the first NYFW show I’ve ever walked,” wrote Moore on Instagram. “I’m so proud of Jason’s line, the fabric is incredible. its sturdy, soft and the clothing fits like a glove. Well done!”

Wu is one of a scaled-back selection of fashion designers who are continuing to produce in-person, socially distanced fashion presentations amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. He’s one of the 60-plus designers displaying their Spring 2021 collections remotely via the CFDA’s new digital platform, Runway360. Wu told The Associated Press in an interview following his runway show that even while navigating a new world due to the pandemic, designers shouldn’t stop creating.

“I think the world needs beauty and optimism,” Wu told the outlet. “New York Fashion Week is not over. It is strong. We’re here. … We can all be safe, be gathered and still be able to celebrate.”
