I'm a thrifty mum – three genius ways to update your old Christmas baubles, it's so cheap and easy | The Sun
WITH a couple of weeks until we’re all putting our trees up, a few of us are thinking about stocking up on some new decorations.
But one crafty whizz is showing fans how to transform their old, unwanted baubles into something a little more stylish.
Abi Hugo, known online as @thewhitethistle, regularly shares interior and DIY ideas with her 33,000 followers.
In one of her recent videos, the savvy mum shares how she transforms her old Christmas tree baubles to match her new colour scheme.
All you need to do it yourself is a hot glue gun, some string, PVA glue and an old book.
“Today I want to focus on the old baubles that we all have hiding in the attic that we no longer get out because they don’t fit our aesthetic. Let’s change that.

“So, here I’m using some hot glue and some macrame string. I’m just wrapping it round and around all the way until I get to the bottom.
“Then I just snip off the end and secure it with a little bit more hot glue. Then I reattached the top, again using hot glue, and swapped out the string with some beautiful ribbon.
“Next, good old-fashioned paper mache. Mixing up some PVA glue and water, taking some old book pages and securing it with the PVA to the bauble.
“Again, going in with the ribbon to give it a little bit extra. Again, securing that with some hot glue.
