I’m a mum-of-12 & my kids get through 6 huge cakes in a day…people say I’m the coolest parent | The Sun

IF you thought feeding a family of four was tough, spare a thought for mum-of-12  Alicia Doherty.

The New York-based family needs a whopping 12 breakfasts, 12 lunches and 12 dinners everyday and their mum has shared just how she keeps those hunger pangs at bay.

On her TikTok channel Dougherty Dozen, Alicia shared an average day of eating in her household.

“Here’s what my 12 kids ate today,” she announced, opening her giant fridge door to reveal shelves packed with snacks and bottles of milk.

Alicia panned around to her kitchen worktop, where six huge cakes sat waiting to be gobbled up.

“For breakfast I made pumpkin chocolate chip bread with sausage links and melon,” she said.

Beside the cakes sat a small plate piled high with cocktail sausages and beside that, an enormous canteen-style bowl filled to the brim with chopped melon pieces.

“For lunch I made them a sandwich with veggie sticks, carrot sticks, yoghurt and apple sauce,” she continued.

Then came an afternoon snack of gigantic proportions. The video skipped to rows and rows of enormous buckets overflowing with popcorn.

The popcorn buckets were so big, they almost eclipsed their smallest children.

“For their afternoon snack we had popcorn when we went to go see the Super Mario Bros movie with our friends,” she said.

“Then we had cupcakes for Marv’s 10th birthday.”

Finally, Alicia described her dinnertime menu – all cooked in a huge slow cooker for ease.

“For dinner we had crockpot chicken and biscuits with mashed potatoes and applesauce,” she said.

Alicia panned across her kitchen counter to show off the size of her slow cooker, along with a buffet-sized bowl of mashed potatoes and a huge tub of applesauce ready to be opened.

The doting mum couldn’t make dinner without offering a dessert. As she filmed the clip over the Easter holidays, she decided to make her kids some cute Easter-themed floats.

12 perfectly presented milkshakes with sweet little bird-shaped sweets on top sat waiting to be eaten by excitable children.

The Dougherty Dozen boast almost six million followers who keep up to date with their adventures, and the family have almost 300 million likes on TikTok alone.

Hundreds commented on Alicia’s video, sharing their surprise and awe at the amount of food on offer.

“The popcorn must’ve been EXPENSIVE,” noted one user.

“You’re the best mum ever,” shared a second.

“Looks so good,” gushed a third.

And a fourth joked: “Are there any leftovers?”
