I'm a beauty pro & put Primark's new Olaplex dupes to see how they compare – there's a treatment that's worth the money | The Sun

A BEAUTY pro has put Primark’s new Olaplex dupes to the test to see how they compare to the real thing – and there’s a treatment she claims is definitely worth the money.

Alicia shared her first impressions after managing to find three products from the high street store’s new Bond Pro-Repair range.

She claims that after the pre-shampoo treatment, intensive moisture hair mask, and the styling hair oil, all just £4.50, her blonde locks were left feeling silky smooth.

Alicia said: She said: “I've been and bought the Olaplex dupes from Primark, so let's try them out.

“So these are the three products which Primark have come out with.

“We have got the Bond Repair Intense Moisture Hair Mask which is £4.50.

“We've got the oil which is £4.50, and then the Bond Pro Repair Pre Shampoo treatment which was also £4 50.”

She added: “I just wanna note that I have actually used all of the original Olaplex products so I do know how they work, and I will be able to give a good review…on whether the Primark ones are actually good or not.”

During the six-minute video, the beauty fan shared her thoughts on all three products, starting with the pre-shampoo treatment.

She suggests this a dupe for the No.3 Hair Protector, now £28, which claims to repair damage and strengthen your locks.

That’s a potential saving of more than £23.50.

Alicia continued: “It says to use on towel-dried or damp hair which is what we've got right now, and I'm just gonna apply it with my hands.”

After applying a generous dollop to the mid-lengths and ends of her hair, she shared her first impressions.

“What I will say is it smells absolutely gorgeous. It smells really really nice.

“I think it has got more of a smell to it than the original Olaplex…and it is really lovely.

“It smells really nice and luxurious. Smells like you’re in a hair salon.”

After washing out the treatment, Alicia did claim her hair felt nice and soft, before moving on to try the mask and hair oil.

At the end of the reel, the Primark lover shared her thoughts on all three products, commenting: “The hair is done and I'm sure you can agree it looks absolutely stunning.

“We've got an amazing shine to it which you don't often get with blonde hair, but I am very,
very impressed.

“It is also so, so soft. It's so lovely and silky.

“I was really worried, because obviously with cheaper hair products, you don't know whether it's gonna dry out your hair, or you don't even know whether you're gonna be able to get a brush through it after you've used it.

“But honestly, these products have been so, so lovely. I really like them.”

She also shared whether she would recommend the bargain buys over the original Olaplex, adding: “Would I recommend these over the Olaplex?

“I'm gonna be completely honest, obviously the Olaplex is better for your hair.”

She added: “There is obviously a lot more ingredients in the Olaplex. Obviously, it's £28, you would expect that…however, the Primark ones are really good.

“So if you are on a budget, I would definitely recommend these to you guys.”

Shoppers can pick up Primark’s newest beauty releases in store, all currently available for just £4.50 each.

For those wanting to splash out on the original Olaplex products, these are available online at various retailers, including JustMyLook, with prices starting at £19.50.
