Duchess Meghan’s New Diamond Ring From Prince Harry Was an Anniversary Gift

Royally romantic! The diamond ring Duchess Meghan showed off during her first post-baby appearance on Saturday, June 8, was a gift from Prince Harry.

Following the outing, fans speculated that the 37-year-old’s sparkler might have been a push present from Harry, 34, following the birth of their first child, son Archie, in May. A source, however, tells Us Weekly that the pavé-set ring is actually “an eternity ring/anniversary gift” from the Duke of Sussex.

Meghan brandished the new jewelry on Saturday as she and Harry waved to well-wishers at the annual Trooping the Colour parade in honor of the birthday of Queen Elizabeth II, Harry’s paternal grandmother. Other royals in attendance at the event included Prince Charles and his wife, Duchess Camilla; as well as Prince William, Duchess Kate, and their kids, George, 5, Charlotte, 4, and Louis, 13 months.

The Suits alum was determined to attend the parade, even if it meant briefly parting with her son. “She has spent almost every moment with him and saying goodbye was very difficult,” a source told Us on Monday, June 10. “But Meghan truly wanted to be at the celebration for the queen.”

Archie himself was an anniversary gift, of sorts, born just days before Harry and Meghan’s first wedding anniversary. “We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019,” a statement on the couple’s Sussex Royal Instagram page read. “Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz. The duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives.”

Now the family is settling into life as a party of three. “[Meghan] has really taken to motherhood,” a source told Us last month. “She’s so soft and gentle with Archie.”
