AceShowbiz –Tom Cruise and his son Connor were spotted making a rare public appearance in New York City. Tom and his 28-year-old son, whom the “Top Gun: Maverick” actor shares with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, were seen out and about in the city on Saturday, July 8.
Connor was pictured joining his famous dad in the big apple for a promotional event for his upcoming film “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One“. For the father-son outing, the Hollywood star opted to look casual in a black button-up with blue jeans and black shoes. He paired it with reflective aviator sunglasses and a silver wristwatch.
As for Connor, he also chose to dress casually for the event. He opted for a gray collared shirt with blue jeans and sneakers. Also joining the pair was the actor’s sister Lee Mapother.
Tom and Connor made a handful of public appearances together in the past. Back in 2021, the two attended a Los Angeles Dodgers game in San Francisco, California, together.
In addition to Connor, Tom shares daughter Isabella with Nicole. The 61-year-old star and the 56-year-old actress, whom he was married to from 1990 to 2001, adopted Isabella and Connor in 1992 and 1995, respectively. They chose to stay with their dad in Los Angeles after the former couple’s divorce.
Both Isabella and Connor are living a low-key life outside of the spotlight. Connor often takes to his Instagram account to share pictures of him fishing and playing golf, though he avoids posting pictures of his A-list parents. As for Isabella, she’s currently living with her husband, Max Parker, in London.
In 2018, Nicole made a rare statement about her relationship with her children. “I’m very private about all that. I have to protect all those relationships. I know 150 percent that I would give up my life for my children because it’s what my purpose is,” she said at the time.
She also weighed in on her children’s decision to pursue Scientology like their father. “They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them,” Nicole, who left the church in the ’90s, added. “And I am an example of that tolerance and that’s what I believe – that no matter what your child does, the child has love and the child has to know there is available love and I’m open here.”
