Loose Women panellist Stacey Solomon, 31, has opened up on her decision to throw herself into preparations ahead of the arrival of her and fiancé Joe Swash’s baby girl. The star spoke out after some of her 4.6 million Instagram followers questioned why she wasn’t “worried” about decorating her fourth baby’s room at this stage in her pregnancy, “just in case something happens”.

It comes after Stacey revealed that she had suffered a number of miscarriages before announcing she was pregnant earlier this year.

The mum-of-three addressed concerns from her fans in a video this evening from her unborn daughter’s bedroom.

Stacey said: “I am just sitting here reading your messages and I’ve had a couple of messages that are like, ‘are you not worried about buying things at this stage, just in case something happens?’

“And I just wanted to say, firstly, I think it’s completely personal and you should do whatever makes you feel comfortable.

“But secondly, for anyone who has ever suffered with a loss, I think it’s important to remember that nothing you did made that happen.

“Buying a babygrow or not buying a babygrow didn’t cause that or make that happen, and I genuinely feel it’s whatever you feel comfortable with, whatever makes you happy.

“If you want to get excited, if you want to just put it to the back of your mind until everything’s actually there, then that’s fine either way, just do what works for you.”

Stacey went on to explain that she wants to be “excited”, despite the struggles she and Joe had been through while trying for a baby previously.

The former X Factor contestant divulged: “I personally really want to get excited because no matter what happens, I want to know that I’ve enjoyed this period of time while I’ve had the chance to have it.”

Stacey continued in her Instagram captions, writing: “I know so many people get nervous to buy/do things before the baby arrives. And that is PERFECTLY OK.

“You have to do whatever makes you feel comfortable.

“I think it’s important to remember that if you’ve suffered a loss it’s not your fault and it’s not down to getting ready or excited.

“It’s just a completely unfair, heartbreaking situation that you didn’t cause.”

She added: “It’s hard enough being pregnant let alone knowing how to navigate it when you’ve had previous losses and are so nervous and anxious about what could go wrong…

“But do whatever makes you feel as comfortable as you possibly can and don’t worry what anyone else tells you to do…”

Stacey then admitted that although she does get anxious “that something could go wrong” during her fourth pregnancy, she is making an effort to enjoy this special time with her family.

The star revealed: “I definitely have moments where I get sooo anxious that something could go wrong just because of my experiences.(sic)

“BUT I know that I want to enjoy this pregnancy and I try my best to let myself get excited because who really knows what the future holds, and there’s nothing I can do about that.

“So I can only enjoy now and think positively as much as possible. But ultimately do what WORKS for you and what gets you through,” Stacey advised.

It comes after Stacey has been giving fans an insight into her process of decorating her daughter’s room, ready for her arrival.

The newly decorated room in her home, Pickle Cottage, features multiple shades of pink paint as well as a flower wall.

Stacey and Joe already share their two-year-old son Rex together, while she also has two older sons with ex partners.

Joe is also dad to a teenage son named Harry, from a previous relationship.
