Former The Only Way Is Essex star Kate Ferdinand, nee Wright, has opened up on suffering with mental health issues while pregnant.
The reality star, who is having her first child with football legend Rio Ferdinand, is already step mother to his three kids; Lorenz, 14, Tate, 11, and Tia, nine.
Speaking on the Women’s Health Going for Goal podcast the blonde bombshell opened up on some of the struggles she has faced during the lockdown.
She said: “Lockdown has been an experience. Obviously I was pregnant and the children didn't know, and something I've struggled with is being pregnant with my first biological child and still being a mum.
“So I felt I had all these new experiences… but I was still a stepmother or mother figure to three kids. I struggle with my mental health. Being active helps day-to-day with my anxiety, so when I can't do things, I struggle with it.”
The star, who married Rio in lavish ceremony in Turkey back in September of last year, then went on to admit that she needs to slow down.
29-year-old Kate added “So when I can't do things, I really struggle with it…I want to do everything. Rio says to me 'Kate, just sit down. You just need to sit down and relax'…
“But I don't know why, I just feel guilty when I do.
"[Anxiety is] something I've suffered with from when I can remember. It can start over the simplest thing, and it's just my mind playing tricks on me and can get out of control…

"But I do find that when I exercise or go for a walk, I seem to feel better for the day.”
The mum-to-be then went on to admit that the changes to her body were something she had also struggled with, especially during "the first three months".

In this time she did not have the energy to go to the gym, but now feels "a bit more normal".
Aside from exercise, Kate also shared that she tried to stay away from social media in order to look after he mental health.
She said: 'I'm still not great at it, but I do try to remember that social media and other people's opinions is not me. I do try to have a break."
