Mo Salah earns catchy new chant ahead of Roma clash

Liverpool fans have penned a brand new chant for Mo Salah ahead of the Reds’ crucial Champions League semi-final with Roma – and it is a belter!

Egyptian superstar Salah has been the subject of a number of songs sung from the Kop and on the Reds’ journey around Europe since joining from Roma last summer.

The fun started with a rendition of ‘Salah, Oh Mane, Mane’ to the tune of the Archies’ classic hit Sugar Sugar, which encompassed all of Jurgen Klopp’s sensation front line.

Salah went solo for the now universal chant expressed to the tune of Sit Down by Scottish rockers James – which brand him the "Egyptian King."

But now the hit man, who has netted an unprecedented 43 goals in all competitions in his debut campaign for the Reds, has now been called a "gift from Allah’ – a nod to Salah’s Muslim faith.

The chant is to the tune of The Clapping Song, which was originally recorded by Shirley Ellis.

The song has been belted out by Reds supporters in Rome ahead of the crunch match in the Italian capital city with fan and Twitter user Dave OCKOP capturing the ditty on video.

The Merseyside club boast a 5-2 advantage – with Salah leading the first leg annihilation with two goals and a pair of assists – with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane also getting on the scoresheet.
