Matt Hancock to be secret mole in I’m A Celeb camp as he finally enters ITV show

Matt Hancock and Seann Walsh are set to enter the I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! camp as secret moles.

The former health minister, 44, who has been labelled "vomit-making" by Piers Morgan, and the comedian, 36, will have to complete a variety of tasks without being noticed in a bid to win luxury items for their co-stars.

A show source told the Mirror that people won't expect the Tory MP to play the role of a spy and "act different roles successfully," however "that is the job he has found himself doing".

They continued: "The stakes are high for Seann and Matt, they need to do a variety of things in camp without being noticed or looking out of the ordinary.

"If they succeed the campmates will get their luxury items like pillows and photos of loved ones."

"Bosses think it will be hilarious watching Matt try to act up and pull this off," they added.

According to the publication, the task is one of two things Matt and Seann were asked to do before heading into camp – while the other is a Bushtucker trial.

Ahead of their debut on the programme, hosts Ant McPartlin, 46, and Declan Donnelly, 47, opened up what they think of the pair heading into the jungle.

"It is great, it is very exciting," Ant told the Mirror. "Someone said about Matt's smile at the end (looking odd on the show)…I know what they mean. I reckon there were a lot of people shouting at their telly."

Hancock made headlines in June 2021, when he was forced to quit as health secretary after The Sun newspaper published CCTV images of him kissing and embracing his aide Gina Coladangelo in his Whitehall office on 6 May – going against his own Covid-19 social distancing rules.

Going through some of the comments sent to them on Instagram, Dec shared a joke, which read: "Is Matt bringing his secretary? Haha, I don't think so."

Moving on to discuss Seann's upcoming time on the 2022 series, Dec said he felt the star had been "forgotten a little bit" as he's been "overshadowed" by Hancock's involvement.

Ant then shared: "I thought it was interesting what he said about he's read some awful stuff written about him so he hopes this is a fresh start. And I bet he does."

Clearly having seen one of his shows, Ant went on: "He does a good line in his stand up show about the whole kissing scandal and how he was cancelled because of it."

Images and a video of Seann and pro dancer Katya Jones were released in October 2018, which showed the pair kissing at a pub in Central London.

At the time, the smooch came as a massive shock to everyone, especially as Katya was married to fellow professional Neil Jones, while Seann was in a relationship with then-girlfriend Rebecca Humphries.

"So I hope we get a bit of that in the jungle and he talks about it," Ant added.
