Mark Wright’s mum Carol blasted for ‘horrible’ birthday post as she calls him ‘controlling’

Mark Wright's mum Carol Wright has been criticised by her followers after she wrote a "backhanded" birthday post calling her son "controlling" and "annoying".

While the post was seemingly jokey, as Carol still told Mark, who recently shared a glimpse at his newly-decorated mansion with wife Michelle Keegan, he made her proud, the blunt tone shocked many fans.

"Happy birthday @wrighty_ every day you make us proud, some times you can be annoying with your pickles and decisions but it doesn’t change the way we feel for you," the star's mum began her caption.

"Your tormenting ways, your OCD, your decisions, and trying to control us all," she went on, alongside a snap of the TOWIE star on the beach.

"We wouldn’t have you any other way, have the best birthday son, we love you to the moon and back," she added.

Flocking to the comments in horror, fans were taken-aback by the words used.

"The most back handed happy birthday of happy birthdays let's highlight everything we don't like about our son in a birthday post for millions to view …" one person wrote.

Another agreed: "I just read this and thought the same. Thought I was missing something."

"Yes a bit of an odd Happy Birthday…I’d be like umm thanks," a third fan wrote.

While a fourth commented: "What a horrible post."

"Wow, what a back handed post," a fifth observed, followed by many others tagging their own family members and sharing relief that they don't have to deal with the same tributes.

Others shared their well wishes for Mark on his special day, as the star turns 36 today.

"Happy Birthday @wrighty_ big hugs from the BRIGHTS," Lydia Bright's mum Debbie wrote.

"He sounds a laugh a minute," another joked, as a third said: "Happy birthday Mark have a great day and get spoilt rotten by your family and friends. The this morning interview was amazing and to show awareness to get people to do cpr."

"Happiest of birthdays xx," another fan said, as one person added: "Happy birthday mark hope you have a good one."

It comes as Mark appeared on This Morning to discuss a harrowing rescue attempt when he tried to save a man's life using his knowledge of CPR.

Sadly, the attempt failed, and Mark became emotional as he recalled the events of the day on the ITV daytime show.

The reality TV star spoke about how important it was for non medically trained civilians to learn the lifesaving skill.
