Mark Wahlberg sparks debate as he shows off dramatic transformation

Mark Wahlberg took to Instagram earlier today to promote the Cristalino variety of Flecha Azul tequila – but it was his shaved head that caught fans’ attention.

The video posted on Instagram, showed the Transformers star sampling the alcoholic drink, a brand he is a co-owner/partner of.

But the 52-year-old’s new look is what truly prompted a barrage of comments.

What’s more, it quickly sparked debate – with some in favor and some against the transformation.

User @D997.h joked: “You could play in prison break with that cut.”

“You look like you just got out of 5 years in lock up. All you’re missing is the neck tattoos,” added @surrealityphotography.

Schnaiknathalievan asked: “Where is your Beautyful Haïr?”(sic) alongside a sad face emoji.

Frenchybdr commented: “I really like the buzz cut!” while Solemanfineart wrote: “So sexy w that shaved head and that little belly.”

Cadonovan9 penned: “@markwahlberg kinda digging the shaved head…you look sort of like your saying F* YOU HOLLYWOOD, I do what I want.” (sic)

The post comes after Wahlberg announced last year he had taken the decision to ditch the lavish Hollywood life and move to Las Vegas in a bid to seek a “better life”.

The 52-year-old surprised fans last year as he revealed his family had uprooted from their $90 million California mansion to pursue a “better life” in Las Vegas.

The 52-year-old surprised fans last year as he revealed his family had uprooted from their $90 million California mansion to pursue a “better life” in Las Vegas.

The Father Stu actor said: “[My children] love Vegas. I spent lots of time in LA pursuing my interests and my career, and now it’s time for them to pursue theirs.

“Everybody is thriving there. It’s been great,” Wahlberg added in a interview with E! News earlier this year.

While the actor said his children have been enjoying the change of scenery, he and his wife, Rhea Durham, have also seen some perks to being based in Sin City.

In particular, he’s been enjoying the entertainment industry – with several A-list names currently having residencies in the celebrated casinos and clubs.

He said: “I saw Adele, I saw Bruno Mars. I’ve seen quite a few shows and been to lots of great restaurants.

“There’s so much to do in Vegas and it’s so exciting.”
