Manuel Pellegrini will be confirmed as West Ham’s new boss this week.
The Irons are hoping to make an announcement on Wednesday after the former Manchester City boss agreed terms on a £7million-a-year deal over the weekend.
West Ham moved for him after first choice Rafa Benitez indicated he wanted to stay at Newcastle.
Terms are now being finalised for Ruben Cousillas, Pellegrini’s right-hand man at Hebel China Fortune, to rejoin him in London.
Pellegrini has also identified former Liverpool chief scout Eduardo Macia as a potential Head of Recruitment for the Irons.
Macia, 44, is currently performing the role at Leicester but West Ham hope he could be tempted to move to London to become part of their new operation.
Pellegrini will have full control over signings with Hammers owner David Sullivan relinquishing his involvement.
But the club believe the Chilean’s arrival will convince players considering their futures, such as striker Javier Hernandez and Manuel Lanzini, to stay on.
Both Pellegrini and Benitez were on a four-man shortlist at West Ham with the club determined not to find themselves in relegation trouble yet again next season.
Also on the shortlist were former PSG boss Unai Emery and Shakhtar Donetsk manager Paulo Fonseca who met Sullivan last Monday.
Fonseca – also targeted by Everton – has since signed a new contract to stay at his Ukrainian club.
