Man United fans identify two weak links after Brighton defeat

Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof are suffering the wrath of the Manchester United fans after the Red Devils’ shock 3-2 defeat by Brighton on Sunday.

Jose Mourinho’s men were expected to make it two wins from two to keep pace with their rivals Manchester City this weekend, but were well beaten on the south coast.

Glenn Murray opened the scoring for Brighton after the striker got the better of Lindelof in the box and chipped the ball past David De Gea.

Shane Duffy made it two just minutes later, after Manchester United failed to clear their lines and the Irishman fired home.

Romelu Lukaku reduced the deficit ten minutes before half time, as United looked to get back in the game, but a Pascal Gross penalty restored Brighton’s two-goal lead going into the break.

Paul Pogba netted an injury time consolation goal from the spot for the Red Devils, but it came too late for the away side to mount any sort of genuine comeback.

Not one single Manchester United player covered themselves in glory in the match, but there were a couple of players who really failed to impress.

Both Bailly and Lindelof, who were paired at the back on Saturday, had a game to forget, and are now facing the wrath of the United fans as a result.

On Twitter , one fan wrote: "Bailly and Lindelof all match, useless, useless midfield, no talent out wide, not enough investment, bad season ahead."

Another asked: "Why are Bailly and Lindelof not getting the [Phil] Jones and [Chris] Smalling abuse for being every bit as useless?"

While a third said: "After seeing the Bailly and Lindelof debacle yesterday, I’m baffled what the hell our scouting network is doing".

Will Mourinho last the season as Man United manager?
