Love Island’s Amy Hart urges fans to get a smear test after receiving ‘dodgy’ results

Love Island ’s Amy Hart has urged her fans to get a smear test after she received some "dodgy" results from her own.

She reminded her fans not to miss their smear tests, after her results mean that she has to go back for further testing.

Amy, 28, took to Twitter to send her fans a message on the topic, writing: "Just a random reminder to book any overdue smear tests please gals.

"My follow up smear has come back dodgy so progressing to the next set of tests. Don’t leave it!”

A smear test is a quick and painless procedure that can detect potentially precancerous and cancerous processes in the cervix.

All women and people with a cervix between the ages of 25 and 64 should go for regular cervical screening, according to the NHS.

Former Big Brother star, Jade Goody, tragically died from cervical cancer in March 2009, just a few months after she was diagnosed with the illness at age 27.

Amy, who shot to fame on popular ITV show Love Island in 2019, has become something of a women’s health advocate, recently making an appearance on C4’s Embarrassing Bodies to discuss the impact of social media on body image.

Amy spoke to Dr Patel on the show about her own experience with her "extreme" diet and exercise regime before heading into the Love Island villa.

She continued: ”Eight weeks – gym every day, 1800 calories, vegan diet plan, I gave up drinking, I’d call in sick to work so I could go to the gym instead.”

Dr Patel asked her: "Why did you think you needed to do that?”, to which Amy replied: "I thought I needed to do that to be attractive to the boys that would be in the villa.”

Dr Patel then added: “It’s an extraordinary thing – why do we do it?”

The blonde reality star answered: “I think it’s because we have been conditioned that thinner is prettier.

“It’s completely wrong and there shouldn’t be one body type that is beautiful.”

Amy said she wanted people to realise that "your dream body should just be your own body”.

Reality star Amy appeared on Love Island in 2019, where she was a day one contestant, and first chose to couple up with Anton Danyluk.

She went on to couple up with Curtis Pritchard, and the future looked promising, until he entered Casa Amour, and set his sights on newcomer Jourdan Raine.

Amy is looking to move out of the reality TV stratosphere, as she’s looking to take a political turn with her career in the future.

Since leaving the villa she has found love with Sam Rason, whom she has been dating for over a year.
