BBC Breakfast presenters Louise Minchin, 52, and Dan Walker, 44, regularly share selfies together from the studio with their fans on their social media pages. Today, the latter said his colleague had lost her phone, meaning he had to post for her.

In their latest offering, Louise could be seen smiling as she took over camera duties, while her co-star could be seen looking happy behind her.

In view of his 707,000 Twitter followers, Dan commented: “Louise has lost her phone so I’m having to send out her regular sofa selfie.

“Good morning all. Thanks for joining us on #BBCBreakfast @louiseminchin @BBCBreakfast.”

Fans swiftly flocked to his post to share their thoughts.

One user wrote: “Loosing your phone is awful, hope it’s all sorted soon.”(sic)

A second commented: “Louise is looking very calm considering her phone is missing. I’d be wildly panicking.”

A third added: “How is she presenting when her phone is missing? I’d be in too much of a blind PANIC!!!!!! #BBCBreakfast #TooProfessional.”

Louise later took to Twitter to tell fans she had now found her all-important technology.

In view of her 205,000 followers, she posted: “Thanks @mrdanwalker for stepping up to the #BBCBreakfast selfie duty, and the good news is I have been reunited with my phone!”

Yesterday, the presenter shared her latest selfie on Instagram after visiting a hair salon.

The mother-of-two shared a before and after picture of her freshly cut and coloured blonde locks.

She commented: “Hooray the #lockdownlocks are GONE!”

Louise was swiftly inundated with compliments from many of her 70,000 followers.

One wrote: “Beautiful before still beautiful now.”

A second added: “Waiting to have mine done, your’s looks fabulous.”

Elsewhere today, reports have claimed Alex Scott is set to replace Dan on Football Focus.

The presenter stepped down from his role after 12 years to focus on new opportunities.

A source told The Sun: “Alex was deemed the perfect fit for the role. After her stint on Strictly in 2019, her popularity went through the roof.”

A BBC spokesperson told Express.co.uk: “An announcement on the new presenter will be made in due course.”
