Katie Price's mum Amy has revealed she regrets that her grandson Harvey's dad Dwight Yorke isn't a part of his life.
In an exclusive extract from Katie's new memoir Harvey and Me, for which Amy penned a chapter, she reveals that she finds the whole thing very "sad."
Amy writes: "I think it’s sad that Dwight isn’t in Harvey’s life. His agent has always been in contact with me. If Harvey isn’t well, she’ll message me and ask how he is. But Dwight never asks himself."
Katie fell pregnant with Harvey in 2001 during her short-lived romance with the former Aston Villa and Manchester United striker.
When Harvey was born the following year, Dwight went to visit him in hospital, but later decided he wanted no part in his son's life.
"It's such a shame," Amy lamented.
"In 2020, Harvey was hospitalised and was really poorly in intensive care. Dwight’s agent rang me and asked how bad he was."
The eighteen year old – who has Prader-Willi syndrome, autism, and learning and behavioural difficulties as a result of a rare genetic disorder – was taken into intensive care last July.
Amy continued: "I said, ‘Look, this has got to stop now. If Dwight wants to know about Harvey, he’s got our number and he should ring us himself.’ He shouldn’t be going through his agent. It’s about time he took some responsibility.
"But we’ve heard nothing from Dwight, which is a shame. Harvey is also missing out on a relationship with his brother, as Dwight has another son. It really is such a shame because we always had a good relationship with Dwight."
Katie has made multiple public pleas to Dwight, asking him to see his son and for those who know him to get in touch and say the same thing.
In 2019, Katie wrote on social media: "Anyone who knows Dwight Yorke, please get him to contact his son. Harvey doesn’t deserve this, he sees his other son Tiger, so I don’t understand!
"He does charity work for different kids charities, yet doesn’t see or support his own son."
During a 2009 interview with Sky News, Dwight explained that he wanted to “play an intricate part” of Harvey’s life but said that the opportunity had been “taken away” from him.
