GMB’s Richard Arnold reveals Love Island’s Ekin-Su’s secret family connection to ITV show

Good Morning Britain's Entertainment Editor Richard Arnold revealed that the show has a secret family connection to Love Island contestant Ekin-Su Cülcüloglu.

The 52 year old made the revelation as he presented a clip of Ekin-Su acting quite animatedly in Turkish soap opera Kuzey Yildizi on Wednesday morning's show.

Richard informed hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid that he’d received help in translating the footage from a GMB colleague working behind the scenes of GMB, who is actually quite closely related to Ekin-Su.

“So we had that translated by one of our colleagues who turns out to be Ekin-Su’s cousin,” Richard said, surprising the co-presenters.

“It’s a family affair here in Good Morning Britain. I smell BAFTA,” he joked.

This uncovered detail comes after Ekin-Su had her head turned in the villa again following the arrival of bombshell Jay Younger, 28, on Tuesday night’s episode.

The investment analyst caused the actress’ heart to flutter and she immediately told the girls he was her type.

Ekin-Su said: “The tall one that's 28, he's so cute. Yeah, I really like him. I'm getting to know him. I don't give a f***!"

Her reaction comes after she initially found current partner Davide Sanclimenti the most attractive upon entering the villa.

Ekin-Su has since shown interest in rugby player Jacques O’Neill, 23, and now Jay, suggesting that her spark for Davide is dying down.

This turn of events coincides with a body language expert’s analysis that the Turkish soap star and Italian business owner Davide have been faking their chemistry following their recoupling.

Discussing the moment they were paired together for the first time, expert Inbaal Honigman told The Sun: “Davide is far from happy. He is swaying back and forth in a gesture that's slightly annoyed, trying to process what just happened.

“He's saying kind words, but his face is motionless, as if he's trying to stop himself displaying how he really feels.”

While Ekin-Su might have been initially happy, her body language showed otherwise according to the expert, saying: “When her name is called, she lets her face do all the talking. She sends him a warm glance to reassure him and doesn't hesitate as she walks towards him.

“Their bodies meet in a cold embrace, and they sit together a little stiffly, like strangers on a packed train, but her face shows that she's pleased to be picked by him.”
