Gemma Collins feels ‘vulnerable’ after Steve Allen’s cruel comments as she speaks out

Gemma Collins has jumped at the chance to support Tilly Ramsay after an old tweet from LBC host Steve Allen was dug up and reported on.

Headlines this week have covered Steve’s comments calling Tilly “chubby” but reports have shifted to a number of 2014 tweets he wrote labelling Gemma “fat", "boring” and a “beach hut”

Seeing that she had been brought into the discussion, Gemma was quick to have her say and throw her support behind Tilly for the way people talk about women’s bodies.

Following up her original post to Instagram in Tilly's defence, she followed with a second snap where she wrote: “I’ve had a few people this past week, month, ten years in spotlight be rude to me about me….. firstly I’m sorry my bright light reminds you of how miserable you are and secondly Y’all need to all remember who the F I IS.

“A Romford girl that’s smashed it on so many levels, I was so upset about the targeting of @tillyramsay and then I got attached to the story because of someone being cruel about me and do you know what guys it does upset you when it gets brought to light all day yesterday it was covered… is the radio station going to deal with this?”

Encouraging fans to vote for Tilly on this weekend’s episode of Strictly, Gemma backed herself as she told fans she “made her own life” and success through respect.

She continued: “Everyone vote this weekend and get behind @tillyramsay what’s gone on is disgusting. Unless you can match what I’ve achieved don’t even bother…… having to relive the cruel comments yesterday really has got my day off to a vulnerable start but don’t worry.

"I'll get up and at them today do my work and do it for everyone who puts up with any sort of c*** in their life! I never been given anything I didn’t come from a rich family everything I got I GOT IT I PAID for it I made my own life though hard work RESPECT.”

Tilly had hit out at the radio host earlier in the week after he spoke about her image live on air.

The young star wrote: “I try not to read and listen to comments and negativity however recently being called out on a national radio station by a 67-year-old man is a step too far.

“Steve please feel free voice your opinions however I draw the line at commenting on my appearance. It's such a shame that someone is trying to make such a positive experience negative.”

While the negative comments from Steve have been making headlines, Tilly has vowed to smile in this weekends episode of Strictly.
