In view of her 285,000 followers, Scout revealed she was stunned at the messages of support she had been receiving since her sister had broken the news.

She wrote: “The exquisite outpouring of love that I am experiencing right now is just blowing me away.

“Thank you all for showing up with so much tenderness and stunning love for my daddio and my whole family!”

The star posted a snap of her Die Hard actor father wearing a yellow headscarf and yellow tinted sunglasses while smiling for the snap.

Her update comes after she posted a sweet picture of herself with Bruce as she thanked her fans for their kind words.

Scout wrote: “Yesterday was so surreal, sharing something so personal.

“I didn’t know how it would be received, there is always an unknown when sharing out so vulnerably into the world.

“I’d hoped for some love and compassion, I truly NEVER could have anticipated the depth and breadth of the love we received as a family yesterday,” she added.

“I am so grateful for your love, I’m so grateful to hear about what my papa means to you.

“Thank you so much to everyone who reached out to me yesterday, I love and I appreciate you with all my heart, it’s gonna take me a while to respond to your messages!” she ended her post.

The family were also inundated with support from their celebrity friends.

Model Ireland Baldwin simply left a row of red hearts.

Halloween actress Jamie Lee Curtis wrote: “Grace and guts! Love to you all!”

While Tom Hanks’ wife Rita Wilson added: “My heart goes out to Bruce and all of the family.

“So thankful you shared this with us. Keeping you all in our prayers.”

It comes after Rumer took to Instagram to share that her father has been going through some “challenging times”.

She revealed that the Hollywood legend had been diagnosed with aphasia, which is “impacting his cognitive abilities.”

She added: “As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.”
