Christine McGuinness has admitted she "blamed herself" after discovering her three children were autistic.
The 33 year old Loose Women star is a proud mum to her three children; twins Penelope and Leo, eight, and five year old Felicity.
All three of her and husband Paddy McGuinness' children have been diagnosed with autism.
Christine herself recently revealed that she has also been diagnosed with autism. But she wasn't always aware that autism was genetic and previously "blamed herself" for something she had done when her children were younger.
She candidly told the Telegraph: "As parents you’re constantly asking yourself, is it the vaccines when they’re babies or something else you did? But Simon has done all these studies over the years and it was clear it was genetic."
Loose Women star Christine also revealed how she worried about how she cared for her children in their younger years.
"I blamed myself a lot," she said. "Patrick worked away so much, and I wanted to be a stay-at-home mum, that was my choice.
"So when they weren’t speaking, socialising and weren’t eating food, I instantly blamed myself. Maybe I’d not spoken to them enough, not touched them enough or taken them to enough baby groups. But now I know there’s nothing we could have done differently. Our children were born autistic and so was I."
But, Christine has now said she was reclusive during her children's early years.
She recalled: "If family members that they didn’t recognise came to the house, they would be in tears."
Now, Christine said that she understands her children's triggers better, which she began to realise more in the lockdowns.
She said: "As a family we’ve really moved on. I’m proud of us."
Proud mum Christine gushed: "We’ve got three amazing, clever, funny children. They are so polite. All of their first words were ‘Mummy’ and ‘Daddy’ and ‘please’ and ‘thank you’."

Christine isn't the only star to have been diagnosed with autism recently, Mel Sykes also recently revealed her own diagnosis.
Speaking earlier this month, 51 year old Mel said: "After a series of assessments last week, a report came back to tell me that I’m autistic."
Mel added in the Instagram post: "It’s thanks to Harry Thompson, who I’m working with at the moment, and we were physically working together opposite each other when, after ten minutes of being in my company, he said “I think you might be ADHD and I think you might have an autistic profile”.
"Then I started to process how that might be, and it suddenly started to make sense."
In her interview, Christine said of Mel: "I’m not shocked. I know she’s got an autistic son, and like me she’s probably masked. And as we know, it’s genetic."
