Former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley, 38, is said to have received complaints about failing to disclose advertisements on Instagram. According to reports, the matter was resolved informally by the Advertising Standards Authority last month.
The actress is claimed to have “forgot” to include the correct hashtag while promoting The Vintage Hive on her page.
Earlier this year, the regulators revealed they had escalated action against Instagram influencers, who do not make it clear to followers that they have received payment for their posts.
Back in March, the watchdog revealed it had been monitoring the Instagram accounts of 122 UK-based stars.
They found their rules around advertisement disclosure were being followed just 35 per cent of the time.
“Representatives of Catherine Tyldesley told us that she had forgotten to add the relevant hashtag to her post, labelling it as an ad,” a representative for ASA told The Sun.
“They advised that she had since edited the post to include the relevant hashtag, and apologised for not adding it at the time of posting.”
They continued: “We acknowledged that Ms Tyldesley forgot to include the ad label on her post, but subsequently updated it to include it.
“We therefore closed the case on an informal basis, with further advice offered around the labelling of ads on her social media platforms.

“Similarly, we also received a complaint about Instagram stories by Olivia Attwood advertising the Philip Kingsley Bond Builder hair treatment, which were not correctly labelled as an ad.”

Meanwhile, the former Corrie star recently took to the picture-sharing site to unveil a brand new hairdo.
The actress, who played Eva Price in the ITV soap, switched her honey-toned hair to a dark brunette colour.

The small-screen star also sported a new fringe as she posed for the photo, in view of her 639,000 followers.
Catherine also suggested that the transformation is in aid of an upcoming character.
“I love shedding a character and moving onto the next,” she captioned the snap.
“My favourite part is delving! The research, the transformation.”
She added: “Thank you to the super talented @jrhairandbeauty I’m loving my new look! So different to what I’m used to – I love it!!”
Fellow TV stars Helen Flanagan, Amanda Holden, Keith Lemon and Michelle Visage all complimented the star over her new makeover.
“Looove this hair on you,”(sic) Sammi also commented, while 8th sign wrote, “Ooh love this Cath! Perfect fringe, suits you!”
Meanwhile, Helen Lancaster wrote: “You really suit a fringe Cath.”
