Britney Spears' dad Jamie has said he is "sorry" to see his daughter suffering after the shocking claims the singer made in court on Wednesday.
The 39 year old appeared remotely in a Los Angeles court in a bid to have her conservatorship, which is controlled by her dad, revoked.
Under the current ruling, Jamie, 68, is in control of the Piece of Me hitmaker's financial and business decisions, with Britney alleging he is also in control of her body – not allowing her to have more children.
It was also claimed that Jamie had intimidated her into performing a 31 date tour of Europe and North America in 2018.
Jamie spoke via a statement at the testimony, which said: "He is sorry to see his daughter suffering and in so much pain.
"Mr Spears loves his daughter very much," the short statement concluded.
In March, Jamie hit out at critics who were concerned about the role he played as Britney's conservatorship.
He told CNN at the time: "I love my daughter and I miss her very much.
"When a family member needs special care and protection, families need to step up, as I have done for the last 12-plus years, to safeguard, protect and continue to love Britney unconditionally.

"I have and will continue to provide unwavering love and fierce protection against those with self-serving interests and those who seek to harm her or my family."
During her video-link appearance in court, Britney reportedly described how "anyone involved in this conservatorship, including my management … they should be in jail."
Speaking directly to Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny about her conservatorship, which has been in place since 2008, Britney reportedly said: "I am not happy, I can’t sleep. I’m so angry, it’s insane. And I’m depressed.

"The last time I spoke to you [the judge] … made me feel like I was dead. I am telling you again because I am not lying…so maybe you can understand the depth and the degree and the damages…I deserve changes."
Elsewhere in the hearing, Britney also detailed In an emotional statement to the court how her father and management allegedly forced her to perform.
The blonde beauty reportedly told the judge, according to The Independent: "Ma'am, I am not here to be anyone's slave. I can say no to a dance move."
