Beyoncé and Jay-Z reportedly helped raise over $6 million for City Of Hope, a non-profit cancer treatment and research center, according to Forbes.
Last week, Beyoncé and Jay-Z attended the City of Hope Spirit of Life Gala 2018 in Santa Monica, California. During the gala, Beyoncé performed songs including “Ava Maria” and “Halo.”
City of Hope is an independent research and treatment center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases. The organization annually recognizes a philanthropic leader whose work has fundamentally impacted music and entertainment.
This year City of Hope honored chairman and CEO of Warner/Chappell Music Jon Platt with the Spirit of Life award, which was presented by Jay-Z.
“It was my pleasure to honor my friend Jon Platt for all the good work he does for The City of Hope. City of Hope makes creating medical miracles its priority in the fight against cancer and life-threatening diseases. If you’d like to help, you can contact them at cityofhope.org,” Beyoncé wrote on an Instagram post along with a group picture with Jay-Z, Platt and Usher.
Dr. Dre, Tiffany Haddish, Quincy Jones, Bebe Rexha, Wiz Khalifa, Timbaland, Kelly Rowland and Rita Ora also attended the event.
