Completing the London Marathon is no easy feat, but there’s more than just a sense of relief/pride/exhaustion awaiting runners who cross the finish line!
That’s because all across London, a host of restaurants and bars are serving up free food and drink to runners on the 22nd April – and all you need to do is bring your medal.
We’re not just talking token snacks either – think huge burgers dripping in cheese, pad thais, pizzas and even a tipple or two.
Basically, the perfect excuse to replenish your energy and tuck into some seriously mouthwatering dishes.
However, you won’t want to wander around the capital looking for deals – so we’ve already done the hard work for you and searched out the best foodie deals and freebies for London Marathon runners.
Go on, treat yourself… you’ll definitely have earned it!
1. Free burgers at Maxwells
Take your finisher’s medal along on race day to Maxwell’s and you’ll be rewarded with a hearty burger – completely for free! Choose between the Maxwell’s Old Timer or Veggie Burger and indulge after a gruelling day. (One burger per medal holder!)
The offer’s not just for runners. Maxwell’s is also offering volunteers 25% off their food, but you’ll need to bring proof with you.
The restaurant is pretty popular so it might be worth booking in advance to ensure you get a place.

2. Free King Prawn Pad Thai at Thai Square Trafalgar Square
Following a 26.2-mile journey, some sustenance is required – and a free King Prawn Pad Thai could be just the ticket!
Simply show your medal at Thai Square on Sunday 22nd April and tuck into a complimentary dish of chanburi rice noodles, crushed peanuts, bean curd, beansprouts and egg with juicy king prawns and a tangy tamarind sauce.

3. Free poké bowl at Honi Poké
For those after something healthy to replenish their energy without undoing a healthy routine, Honi Poké could be the perfect solution.
Head to their Soho or Fenchurch Street sites, where they’re offering medallists a free poké bowl – a "fresh Hawaiian sushi bowl made with marinated raw fish, rice and a variety of fresh ingredients and zingy sauces".
They’re not open on race day itself – but recovery takes a few days, right?

4. Free Veni-moo burgers from Mac & Wild
Scottish champions Mac & Wild will be congratulating all London Marathon runners with FREE Veni-Moo burgers.

7. Complimentary drinks at Bluebird Chelsea
Chances are you’ll be wanting to celebrate after completing the race and all of the training – but if it’s a tipple you fancy rather than a hearty meal, head down to Bluebird.
Drinks are on the house for runners at this Made in Chelsea Haunt – just bring your medal for proof.

8. Free burgers at Exhibit bars
Head to one of the Exhibit Bars in Balham or Streatham where runners can bag a free ‘loaded burger’ – all you need to do is show your medal!

9. Free cookie from by. CHLOE
Plant-based, ‘fast-casual’ restaurant by CHLOE is offering medal winners one of their signature Cinammon Espresso cookies, ideal for a quick burst of energy.
Need something a little more substantial? They will also be offering runners a complimentary pasta dish – think mac and cheese or avocado pesto.
The offer will be valid on Sunday 22nd April from 10am to 10pm. One pasta dish or cookie per medal holder.
