Arsenal star pens new long-term contract at the Emirates

Arsenal defender Rob Holding has signed a new long-term contract at the Emirates.

The 22-year-old has put pen to paper on fresh terms to extend his stay in north London.

Holding arrived from Bolton in the summer of 2016 having enjoyed a breakthrough season with the Trotters, scoring once in 30 games as he was named the club’s player of the year.

He made his debut in the 2016-17 campaign opener against Liverpool which the Gunners went on to lose 4-3.

His Champions League bow followed in December 2016 in a 4-1 win over FC Basel at St Jakob Park.

Holding played the full 90 minutes as Arsenal beat Chelsea in the 2017 FA Cup final and scored his first goal in September that year in a 4-2 Europa League win over BATE Borisov.

In all, he has made 42 appearances for the club.
