Dear Amy: Like so many others, I have faced my share of struggles trying to get through the pandemic and keep my health, family, and…
Santi Cazorla has been caught on camera having a kick-about on the Emirates pitch ahead of Arsenal’s Europa League clash with Atletico Madrid.
The Spanish midfielder has been out of action for two years, and came close to having his foot amputated due to infections following a string of surgeries in 2017.
His last appearances for the Gunners was in their 6-0 Champions League win over Ludogorets in 2016, and as things stand it’s not yet clear when he will return to first team action.
But on Thursday the Spaniard – who is massively adored by the fans in north London – was out on the pitch working on his ball control.
Cazorla was joined by Arsenal fitness coach Shaf Fosythe, and appeared to be absolutely thrilled as he laced up his boots in the changing room before making his way out onto the pitch.
Once out on the grass the 33-year-old kick-started his short session with a jog around the perimeter of the pitch.
He was then filmed kicking the ball back and forward with Fosythe.
Cazorla’s future is still yet to be decided, but despite his declining years and the fact he hasn’t played for a long while, Gunners supporters would love to see him turning out for the north London club at least one more time.
Will Santi Cazorla play for Arsenal again?
