Andrea McLean, 50, took to her social media on Bank Holiday Monday to directly encourage fans to pursue their dreams and believe in themselves more. The Loose Women anchor insisted that there are no quick fixes for overnight success and that in the end being patient will bring endless opportunities.

There is no magic involved

Andrea McLean

Andrea shared a radiant photo of herself wearing a gorgeous fuchsia blouse paired with bronze makeup.

She wrote next to the image: “I don’t normally repost my Monday Motivation on this page; I put most of my female encouragement and empowerment posts on my @officialtgiof page.

“But after the comments I had following my solo trip away, I thought I would. I want to show you that you CAN.

“Whatever it is you’re dreaming of doing, whether that’s spending a little time in your own, overcoming a personal difficulty or starting a business – there is no magic involved that somehow only happens for others.

I don’t normally repost my Monday Motivation on this page; I put most of my female encouragement and empowerment posts on my @officialtgiof page. But after the comments I had following my solo trip away, I thought I would. I want to show you that you CAN. Whatever it is you’re dreaming of doing, whether that’s spending a little time in your own, overcoming a personal difficulty or starting a business – there is no magic involved that somehow only happens for others… That may not sound as romantic as just singing a song and a fairy godmother waving a magic wand, but there are no magic wands – at least not in the way you’d imagine. A dream may be a wish your heart makes – according to Cinderella – but it’s going to stay just that unless you turn it into a goal. Dreams will stay as dreams unless you work towards them; no one else is going to do this for you, so you have to get stuck in. Discover something that makes your heart soar, that you love, and find a way to make it work for you. Stick at it. Then keep sticking at it until you get there. Then keep sticking at it to keep it. And just like that, ta-da! Your dreams have come true… #dreambig #mondaymotivation #empowerher #tgiof

The Loose Women host explained that it is hard to make dreams come true unless you put effort into realising them.

She continued: “Dreams will stay as dreams unless you work towards them; no one else is going to do this for you, so you have to get stuck in.

“Discover something that makes your heart soar, that you love, and find a way to make it work for you. Stick at it.

“Then keep sticking at it until you get there. Then keep sticking at it to keep it. And just like that, ta-da! Your dreams have come true,” she finished.

The comments come after Andrea had previously uploaded a photo of herself enjoying a holiday break on her own.

The Loose Women star boarded a train, then took a helicopter and a boat to reach the Scilly Isles where she spent time in a cottage.

She admitted to needing some “time and space” alone, after juggling professional and personal commitments for a long period of time.

Andrea revealed: “I needed time and space to work on something and trying to think straight at home while juggling the combined responsibilities of mum, wife, telly work and @officialtgiof meant it wasn’t going to happen if I didn’t do something different.

“As they say, if you want something different to what you have, you’ve got to do something different to what you’ve been doing!

“So, I boarded a train, got on a helicopter, then a boat… and arrived on Bryher in the Scilly Isles, for a week in a tiny, beautiful cottage perfect for one.

“It was my first time going away on my own, and my first time on Scilly.

“I hiked up hills, sat and stared at the sea, got caught in the rain, worked, ate, slept and did all of this in my own time. For the first time since I can remember I moved to the beat of my own drum. I remembered who I am, not just ‘what I do’.

“I think so many of us women have forgotten who ‘we are’, and feel guilty for taking the time to remind ourselves.”

She added: “I’m grateful that I was able to do this, and then return to a loving, welcome home, ready to pick up where I left off.”
