Amanda Holden was reported to the police for breaking lockdown rules after she trekked 200 miles to see her mum and stepdad.
However, after reports emerged that the Britain’s Got Talent star had put lives at risk many fans came out in defence of the television judge.
One fan tweeted: “People having a pop at Amanda Holden give ya heads a wobble…
“I am not keen on her but I know for sure if my mum was still alive and needed me I would there in a flash… Pandemic or no Pandemic!”

A second supporter of Amanda, 49, said: “If Amanda Holden had popped down to Cornwall for a jolly, I’d understand the outrage.
“But if I was miles away from my mum and she was elderly and called me distressed, you best believe I’d be in the car before the phone call was over. Anyone who says they wouldn’t is lying.”
Not everyone on social media agreed with her actions, however, with some followers slamming the radio host.
“Are we allowed to be suspicious about the proximity to her 50th birthday?” asked one person.
Another stated: “I'm not in favour of people snitching and generally not interested in Amanda Holden, but I still think she should be honest and say she just wanted to see her parents so could wish her happy 50th in person, and also pick up her presents.”
The TV judge had initially said she'd received a “distressing phone call” from her 75 year old stepdad Leslie, and that’s why she made the journey.
Amanda is said to have arrived to see Leslie and mum Judith, 71, after leaving from Richmond upon Thames, Surrey, on Friday.
A spokesperson for her told The Sun: “Amanda is aware of the rules and is devastated she had to break them.”
The talented star left her neighbours angry as they accused her of endangering key workers and vulnerable people.
One local told the publication: “She must have known what she was doing was wrong.”
Amanda’s mum and stepdad live in a small hamlet near Bude, Cornwall, but locals were furious that she had travelled 215 miles during lockdown from her home.
Speaking in more depth to The Sun about Amanda’s apparent rule break her spokesperson said: “Amanda is aware that all families are going through difficulty during these turbulent times but received a distressing telephone call from her elderly father on Friday afternoon.
“On balance Amanda felt the round trip to Cornwall necessary to contain the matter at her family home. The very personal situation has now been aided and Amanda is back in London.
“Amanda did not act on a whim and has adhered to Covid rules every step of the way in all three lockdowns.
“Amanda is aware of the travel rules and is devastated she had to break them on this one occasion.
“Her parents are vaccinated and, with Amanda testing for Covid weekly, she felt she was not putting her parents at risk. She did not come in contact with any member of the public.”
