Alice Evans in tears as she feared she’d ‘self harm’ amid Ioan Gruffudd divorce

Alice Evans has revealed she feared she would do herself harm after her husband Ioan Gruffudd told her he no longer loved her.

The 53 year old, who first tweeted about his intention to leave her in January this year, appeared on ITV's Lorraine to speak to the presenter about what happened between herself and Ioan, 48.

Alice explained that she only had an inkling of what was happening when Ioan returned from Australia, where he had been filming Harrow, and gave her a "cold" kiss on the cheek.

She told 61 year old Lorraine: "I thought it was never going to happen to me. He told me within the first few days, 'I just don't love you anymore,' which was… I'm not questioning his right to feel that, I'm not bashing him, but it was so out of the blue."

Alice, who shares kids Elsie, eight, and Ella, 12, with the star, explained that for "about four months" they continued to live together with their two children as he apologised to her and said he "might leave, might not leave".

Breaking down into tears, she continued: "I had been on my own for the whole pandemic with the kids. I'd been looking after the kids for the past 10 years while he's mostly been filming for the past 10 years outside of Los Angeles.

"I was here, he was here too but wouldn't talk to me, look at me, wanted to sleep in the spare room. Eventually I thought I might do myself harm. I spoke to my friends and they kept saying, 'This is not like him, this just doesn't sound right.'

"At one point I just thought, 'I'm going to lose my mind,' and I just tweeted, 'He's leaving us'. And then all hell broke loose."

Alice went on to explain that she has a "messy and long divorce" ahead of her with Ioan, before describing lawyers in the US as "scary".

She also discussed finding out about Ioan's new girlfriend Bianca Wallace after he posted a photo with her on his Instagram, captioned: "Thank you for making me smile again @iambiancawallace," with a red heart emoji, a star emoji, and a blue heart emoji.

Alice said she had asked if he had been seeing anyone two weeks before the photo was posted and said he wasn't.

She then received a notification on her phone saying that he had unblocked her on the social media platform. She thought there could be "a chance he wants to talk or something".

The actress continued: "It was then announced by him and his mistress that they were a couple on Instagram two weeks ago. I just looked at the picture and it said something like, 'Oh finally someone who can make me happy'".

She said people from his set in Australia said they were "finally happy you're out and allowed to be happy and you're not being held back anymore".

Alice broke into tears again as she said: "I think I was owed more than Instagram after 20 years married to each other".
