It’s official! Disney has confirmed that it will bring Loki to the small screen through a limited series for its upcoming streaming service, newly-titled Disney Plus. First rumored to be in development in September, the upcoming series will feature Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as the God of Mischief.

The upcoming Loki standalone will be supervised by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. Despite still being in the early stages of development, Feige promises that the new project will be both innovative and familiar as it’s poised to be more faithful to the comic book source material.

Previous report detailed that iy would have six to eight episode with Marvel Studios producing. In addition to Loki TV series, it was also said that Disney was developing shows that would focus on heroes who haven’t received their own standalone movies. A Scarlet Witch series was among the rumored shows.

While Disney confirms the Loki series, there is no word about the rumored Scarlet Witch series that reportedly will see Elizabeth Olsen reprising the character.

The Loki spin-off series will join other shows confirmed for Disney Plus. So far, the lineup includes Jon Favreau‘s live-action “Star Wars” series titled “The Mandalorian“, a Winter Soldier and Falcon limited series featuring Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie and a final season of “The Clone Wars“. They will be joined by series based on “High Fidelity”, “Mighty Ducks” and “Monsters, Inc.” as well as a live-action remake of “The Lady and the Tramp” featuring Tessa Thompson and Justin Theroux.

It’s still unknown when Disney Plus will be launched.
