Update (November 9): Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s return date has now been officially announced by NBC.
The comedy, which the network saved back in May after Fox cancelled it, is premiering its sixth season on Thursday, January 10 at 9pm ET.
So, it looks like Terry Crews was right…
Original (October 23): Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s season six return date may have finally been revealed… in a fitting scenario.
Yep, none other than Terry Crews appears to have accidentally given away when the show will relaunch on NBC in an Instagram Live story.
We would have put money on Hitchcock and Scully doing something like that, not Terry.
“Brooklyn Nine-Nine is coming back in January on NBC,” he says, according to a fan rip of the story.
Digital Spy has reached out to NBC for comment.
It comes after a dramatic year for the beloved sitcom, which was axed by original network Fox before being saved by NBC.
A switch of channel isn’t the only big change happening this season, with original cast member Chelsea Peretti – aka Gina Linetti – departing the Nine-Nine in the upcoming episodes.
“I won’t be doing a full season of Brooklyn Nine Nine in season 6. But that doesn’t mean I won’t ever be back, winky face emoji, heart emoji,” she said.
“I want to thank you for the hours you spent watching Gina be Gina: confident, idiotic-but-smart, pithy, and infused with rhythm and cell-phone radiation. It is hard for me to know exactly what to say.”
Co-creator Dan Goor teased that they had “tried really hard to create a storyline for her departure that lives up to a character who can only be described as ‘the human embodiment of the 100 emoji'”.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine will air on NBC.
