As the week in Weatherfield kicks off, Carla – played by Alison King in the ITV soap – is shocked when she discovers Roy has been sleepwalking.
Carla encourages him to seek help and tells him that his mother’s recent death is clearly taking its toll on him emotionally.
But Roy’s sleeping worsens and – after realising he’s too tired to concentrate in the café – a worried Carla manhandles him up to the flat.
Carla busies herself tidying away Sylvia’s belongings and is relieved to see Roy – David Neilson – has fallen asleep on the sofa.
Later disaster strikes as Peter Barlow’s boat goes up in flames after a mystery figure knocks over a lamp in the dark.
A crowd gathers and Peter – Chris Gascoyne -is terrified when he’s told his son Simon in still on board.
A furious Peter blames fling Abi Franklin for starting the fire as an act of revenge for using her and he heads over to the factory to see if Carla caught anything on CCTV.
The police arrive to check the CCTV footage and Sarah Platt is surprised to see that the last few days have been wiped.
What’s Carla hiding?
When Peter hears from Sally Metcalfe that the footage has been deleted and Abi has an alibi for the time of the fire, Peter decides that Carla has some explaining to do.
He heads over to Roy’s flat and accuses her of setting fire to the boat.
Carla tells him she had absolutely nothing to do with it and Roy leaps to her defence.
