New York City’s current freezing temperatures won’t stop Amal Clooney from wearing what she wants.
The human rights lawyer, 40, attended Wednesday evening’s United Nations Correspondents Association Awards along with her husband, George Clooney, and chose an elegant blue and white J. Mendel dress for the occasion.
Clooney’s sleeveless, pleated silk gown features a sweetheart neckline and spaghetti straps, and retails for $6,490. The star accessorized with a matching box clutch and geometric diamond earrings.
During Clooney’s acceptance speech for her Global Citizen of the Year award, the humanitarian slammed President Trump for his attacks against the press, and praised the fearless work of journalists who are “under attack.”
“The US president has given [autocratic] regimes a green light, and labeled the press in this country an enemy of the people,” Clooney said. “In many of the cases that I have worked on too, I have seen journalists and opposition figures ruthlessly targeted so that they can no longer criticize leaders.”
